International Data Corporation (IDC) in the data newest noted that global tablet market share dropped by 7 percent during the second quarter of 2015. Even so, the iPad still dominates the tablet realm with the acquisition of market share of nearly 25 percent.
As quoted in the pages IDC, Apple recorded sell as many as 10.9 million iPad units in the second quarter of 2015. Sales in the second quarter of 2015 iPad automatically lowers its market share as much as 3.2 percent to 24.5 percent from 27.7 percent in the same period in 2014. In the second quarter of 2014, Apple sold as many as 13.3 million units.
Vendor tablet into a great opponent Apple is Samsung also experienced a decline in market share to 17 percent from 18 percent in the second quarter of last year. South Korean electronics giant that has sold 7.6 million in the second quarter of 2015.
In one after another in second place there is Lenovo sold 2.5 million units of the iPad with the acquisition of market share by 5.7 percent in the second quarter of 2015. In contrast of Apple and Samsung, Lenovo tablet market share increased from 4.9 percent to 5, 7 per cent.
Huawei and LG Electronics had to settle for sitting in fourth and fifth with sales of tablets each of 1.6 percent and a market share of 3.7 percent and 3.6 percent in the second quarter of 2015. The two companies also has recorded an increase in market share of 1.7 percent and 1 percent.
The downward trend in market share not only affects the iPad tablet and the tablet made by Samsung course, it also occurs in other tablet vendors. IDC noted the tablet market share from other vendors fell as much as 9.3 percent from 22 million units in the second quarter of 2014 to 20.4 million units in the second quarter of 2014.
