According to Gizmodo page, Logitech decision omit the same technology as Apple. Charlotte Johs (VP of Brand Development at Logitech) said that the word was too outdated technology, is everywhere and does not describe any longer. I agree with this, similar to Apple who changed his name from Apple Computer into Apple Inc. in 2007 due not only to focus on the development of computer.
