Instagram has just announced it interesting. Through Twitter account Mike Krieger (co-founder of Instagram), Instagram announced that it now supports image resolution up to 1080 x 1080 pixels. This means increased 2 fold compared to the previous support a maximum resolution of 640 pixels.
We're rolling out 1080×1080 uploads (and higher-quality viewing) for IG on iOS and Android. Let me know if feed looks a bit sharper today :)

From page 9to5Mac also mentioned that this feature has been run since last week but only get the official announcement today. Unfortunately there is news about the extension of this support to display Instagram for the web that you can access on the computer.
